Just a reminder that our next club tasting event is this coming Saturday! We have a fun line-up of single malts to explore ……. all with distillery names starting with the letter “B”….hence the theme for the evening……..

“The Bee’s Knees”!

At least a few of the distilleries on tonight’s menu are new to everyone so I am sure we will have a lot of fun exploring these whiskies!

Here’s our line-up for the evening:

Balblair 2002 –  a vintage release from the Speyside distillery. Some of these Vintage releases have fantastic – let’s see how this one stands up to its siblings!

Bladnoch, 22 yo – an independent release from the Battlehill Scotch Whisky Co of a whisky from this now closed Lowlands distillery.  Surprisingly big and bold!

BenRiach 15 yo, Pedro Ximenez Sherry Wood Finish – there have been some really excellent whiskies from the BenRiach “finished” range. Sherry made from Pedro Ximenez grapes tends toward the sweeter side, so this could be a nice “desert” whisky!

Benromach 10 yo – a core release from this up and coming Speyside distillery, this whisky and the next one evoke an earlier age and style of whisky that will expand your impressions of Speyside whiskies!

Ben Nevis 18 yo – another independent release, this one from Montgomerie’s, the Ben Nevis is a Western Highlands whisky from a relatively unknown distillery. Like the Benromach, this whisky is an “old style” whisky and, of all the whiskies on tonight’s menu, my guess is this one will be the most divisive!

Ballechin, The Discovery Series #8 Sauternes Cask – a peated, wine-matured whisky from Scotland’s smallest distillery, Edradour. This one is sure to surprise folks who may not always appreciate peated whisky. The peat is very different and the wine finish puts an interesting spin on the profile!

As usual, we start at 7:00 pm. Look forward to seeing everyone!
